    Victoria: Re: pala/surrender

In my opinion, I am not sure why every casino does not offer surrender. Sure it is better for the basic strategy player and a very nice addition for counters but what I see tells me that the lack of understanding by the vast majority of players, has to make the house a bunch on surrender. Generally when I sit down and surrender, it seems that there is always a player or two who will ask the dealer what that is. Then they will surrender 15 vs 7, 12vs 10, hell I even saw a guy surrender 6 vs 9.

The other thing about surrender, similar to insurance, it becomes a good way for the pit or the eye to separate a good basic strategy player who may be changing his betting pattern to the counter. The BS player is only going to surrender in the exact same situations and never take insurance. The counter changes his decisions based upon the count.
So is Pala knows (and they should) who their players are, adding surrender just might be a no loose situation for them.

Victoria whose answer (unspoken) to the statement of someone when she surrenders, that they came here to play, not surrender. I came here to win the war and if surrendering in a minor skirmish helps, I will do it.

If enough people ask? Since when do they care what the people want .. unless they are keeping a list of those who 'ask'. Hmmmm ....

If they feel it is beneficial for them they should just change the rules and start offering it.

Well I guess some casinos do care what people want and change if it benefits them,as in this case it would. But if they feel knowone will use this style of play that they will not benefit too.

    Yes, I believe they do.

Point is it's a simple rule change. No hardware involved, no re-modeling needed. You just offer it .. then advertise it .. then profit from it (possibly).

If nobody uses the rule, they are not any worse off. If some start to use it, they might be better off.

No poll needs to be taken.

Its more than simply a rule change as dealers will have to be informed of how the new rule works. Some dealers are very dense as we all know.
