    theoldboozer: Lake Tahoe yearning

After a long (for me) absence of 3 years will make the drive up 395 to beautiful Lake Tahoe.Conditions then were-tread lightly at Bills and the Lakeside Inn,other places fair, usual Northern Nevada rules.Have not played the North or East shore clubs since the early 80's, so have no opinion.Might make a quick side trip to Carson City,Carson Nugget reputed to have a good game.Any recent info would be helpful.

i was in s. tahoe in august. conditions not good. lots of 6:5 sd and 50%dd. I found one game at horizon: sd, d10 this one middle aged male dealer dealt extremely deep. cant remember his name. Lakeside inn had one $5 sd game doa i think w/ about 7 people crammed in. I was only in town for a few hours so there could be more on different shifts.

Harv**'s has a $25 SD on the main floor, and a $100 SD in their HL area.

Hor*z*n has 1 $25 SD, but be careful, as there is also 1 6:5 $25 table too, that unbelievably, had action on it while the real SD was empty one night [early morning] when I came to play. The real BJ SD is nearer the cage.

C*es*rs has 1 $25 SD table on the main floor and 1 $25 SD in the HL area.

Har**'s has [depending on the time and day] 2 or 3 $50 SD tables in the HL area. Fri, Sat, Sun. for sure.

Large action tolerated fairly well for all of the above, with Har**'s the most tolerant.

Pick up the Fall issue of BJ Forum, as the Reno/Tahoe reports are very insightful.

One more thing, check these games out yourself, as they can change on a moments notice, and surprises may be in store....

    cheers

PS While I'm on the subject....does anyone [has anyone] heard about a supposed change by Har**'s "top management" on game philosphy? Just askin.. as I listen to all types of pit chatter. If you have, and would like to share, please email me. Thanks

Har**'s usually keeps at least 1 SD $50 table at $50, while the others go to $100 min.

Those limits are lower during the week. Harrah's HL pit SD is $25 min during slow periods. Ceasar's SD D10 is $10 min week days (or less). I was there last week and played mostly heads up on a weekday. I reside in Reno and will go to Tahoe friday to get away from the trick or treaters. Crystal Bay Club - north shore - has recently reopened with SD D10 mindplay. Some owners/management from Baldini's in Sparks.

Visited, just a walk through, as I don't play at the mind-if-I-cheat, law...we-don't-follow-no-stinkin'-law tables that any casino offers...

And I'm pleased to say that while I was there, I saw maybe, at best, 3 people...COUNTEM, 3 people playing at these tables. This was a late Sat. afternoon. They must be smarter in Incline than Stateline.

    The Biltmore was interesting...played there.
    Cal-Neva.. fagadaboutit.

The Hyatt's remodeling project is almost completed. They need to remodel their game. Hopefully, when this is done, they'll think about offering a little better game, as I'm sure that TV has had more of an impact there than Stateline.

In a hurry? Hungry? Hungover? Then don't forget to eat at T's! The best little place on the lake.

    cheers

Does Harrah's/Harvey's still offer $5 min. SD during mid-week? I haven't been there much the last few years, preferring Reno instead. Based on my last few visits, though, I could tell the quality of BJ at South Shore has deteriorated significantly (compared to 10 yrs. ago). Have you checked out conditions at Horizon as well? Let us know how it goes at Crystal Bay.

I haven't seen $5 min SD at H/H, sometimes at Ceasar's tho. Harrah's has 1 or 2 $25 min SD in their high limit pit. Harvey's has 1 SD, usually $25 min. I played 2 hrs heads up against a very fast, 7 round dealer at Harvey's last week. Very unusual there. 1/2 deck is the norm.

Horizon had some D10 SD and some 6/5 SD.

Let us know how it goes at Crystal Bay.

Played about 10 minutes. SD D10 mindplay dealt 1/2.

Only a few $25 min. SD games at H/H, and now some 6/5 BJ at Horizon? Jeez, that's depressing. Sometimes I wish I had amnesia, so I could forget about the numerous great games that once existed at S.L. Tahoe. Thanks for the report.
