Governor Signs Gaming Compacts
(Phoenix, AZ) -- Proposition 202, a voter approved initiative that expands Indian gaming, has been signed into law by Governor Jane Hull. The gaming compacts allow for more slot machines and Las Vegas-style blackjack in casinos on Indian Reservations. Before the agreement was signed, Arizona didn't get any money from the 22 casinos in Arizona. Now, starting next year, the state coffers will get eight percent of Indian gaming revenues.
