BJinNJ: Playing 5,5 same as hard 10

    Should I use the indices for 10 v 10(or A)
    when I play a 5,5 v 10(or A)?

Studying I18, just wondering about this.

Yes. The only time you would play 5,5 differently than 10 is in super high counts with DAS vs. dealer's low card. Or, um, if you know what the hole card is/next cards are.

At what count exactly is splitting 5-5 ever better than doubling?

yea that's what I thought. Though CV index did generate split numbers for 55 vs. 3-6 (they were in the 20s).

SP21 Self-Taught: If you've seen holecard, it may be correct.

The closest I can cite is Double Exposure 21 strategy - as per the Wizard of Odds website, when DAS is allowed then 5-5 is a correct split versus a known dealer total of hard 16. Now there may be more, since in DE21 the dealer wins all ties, so 5-5 may be a split against other known hard stiff totals.
