Flytrap: Profitable BJ without counting cards?

I'm new to the game and am learning the basic system and was just wondering if it's possible to be consistently profitable playing blackjack without counting cards?

    Thanks.

Some would argue that it is no longer possible to be "consistently profitable" playing blackjack, even with counting cards. :-)

It is highly unusual to find a game with a positive off-the-top expectation for the basic strategy player, at least in the United States. While such opportunities do occasionally present themselves, they usually do not last long.

Sounds like an honest enough response. Thank you. I was hoping there would be something out there that would make it worth pursuing. It's such a tantalizing game.

I just finished reading Blackjack Bluebook II.
Mr. Renzy details an Ace/10 Front Count that
may give a Basic Strategy player a very slight
edge, while not requiring counting during play.

I enjoyed BJ Bluebook II, and beginners will
find it a good resource, IMHO.

Sure, there are dozens of ways to beat blackjack without counting cards. Unfortunately, those methods are either not very profitable, not very common or immensely difficult to perfect. If you want to consistently beat the game, card counting is the easiest way I can think of.
