    BJLover: red7 count

    alright folks,
Ive just started counting cards 1 week ago, after studing a few books, blackbelt in blackjack, blackjack for blood, KO blackjack, million dollar blackjack and blackjack for the pro's i have decided to learn the red 7 count, i based this on the fact i didnt want to jump in at the deepend with a harder count incase i lost interest and became disillusioned with counting, biting off more than i could possibly chew,so to speak. So it was a toss up between KO and red 7,to ease myself in if you like,i settled on the red 7 count as it seems to be a bit stronger in 6 deck shoe games(all the casinos beside me play this), and the pivot can be reached alot quicker than in KO. Are these valid reasons???

I can count a deck down (2 cards at a time) in less than 30secs with perfect accuracy, i have also started dealing out 7 pairs like in an actual game, scanning the cards, keeping count then dealing again, i was going to purchase Casino Verite to help me progress with practice.

TO cut it short, when do you know when your ready for actual casino play(i know i am obviously not now), just so when i reach that level i know i can test the waters.

i was thinking about maybe hitting the casino in a couple of months and just flat betting all night to see if i can follow the count etc, is this recommended or just wasting money??

thank you, all replies/critisiums and any tips are very welcome.cheers rob

As valid as any. Truth is, the two systems are very close in terms of performance, and which one you choose is largely a matter of personal preference. KO has the upper hand in deeply penetrated games. However, either count will get the job done.

This is an excellent idea. Casino Verite does an excellent job of simulating a real casino environment. In addition, it keeps the count for you, so you can verify if you are doing it correctly. All speed parameters are fully adjustable, so you can increase the speed of the game as you gain skill. In addition, it inclludes a suite of drilling programs, allowing you to concentrate on improving specific areas of your game. And it's a lot more fun than counting down decks. :-)

Sooner or later you will have to make the jump into "live fire" real casino play. You can ease this by back-counting at first. Simply stand behind the players at a full table, start counting from the shuffle, and see if you can make it to the cut card without losing the count.

When you find that you can, grab a seat and have at it. Flat bet the table minimum at first, again until you find you can make it through the shoe without losing the count.

A final note: Don't be discouraged if you crash and burn the first time you visit a real casino. The noise and distractions can be overwhelming at first. It happened to many of us (myself included). There are no shortcuts, just practice, practice, practice.

Hi there, thanks for advice, the casinos that i play deal 75% of shoe, does this merit changing to the KO count??

75% pen is actually pretty mediocre for a six deck shoe. There is certainly no reason to switch systems, especially if you are already getting comfortable with Red 7.
