    ShoelessD: Dealing errors

    When there is some type of misdeal, such as the dealer bypassing a player with the second card, why does the management refuse to back up the cards to correct the error? The solution I usually see is the offer to play on, or pull out of the hand.

    The guy on your left holding an ace might not be too fired up about handing over the ten that is rightfully yours. . .

    And incidentally, it's better for us this way. In the long run, the occasional option to pull out of a hand is more valuable than the "by the book" way.

    In some parts of the world they do back up the cards. In handheld games it's not practical, which is probably part of the reason it's not done in Vegas.
