    stooo: progressive betting method

i'm looking for an optimum progressive betting system to use in lieu of counting and/or during those sour deck spells when you just don't seem to be able to lose. (martingale of course excluded). i've toyed with a fibonacci progression and others but none is casino tested. is there a BEST out there or several that are recognized as viable?

An "optimal betting progression" is an oxymoron. No betting progression can turn a negative expectation game into a positive expectation one. In the long run, you will lose the amount wagered times the house edge. Period. End of game.

Betting progressions have been around as long as gambling, and all have been very thoroughly "casino tested." Any of them will make a ton of money -- for the casino. There is no such thing as a "viable" progression.

There have been a few books written touting progressions. These make money -- for the authors and publishers of the books.

Please take a moment to review "Parker's Policies." Any discussion of betting progressions is a waste of bandwidth. The only reason I allowed this post is to serve as a periodic reminder for those new to the game.

We also do not need any useless excercises in theory as to what would happen with an infinite bankroll at a casino with no table limits, since such conditions obviously do not exist in the real world.

I anticipate that this will be an extremely brief thread.
