whenever i play i convert using 1/2 decks. ive recently started playing single decks. the question is this. after half the deck is gone, then there is no conversion.? the tc is simply whatever the rc is? or does something change? it just seems to simple is why i questioned it.

If you reckon the true count by number of half decks remaining, then when one half deck remains the RC = TC.
