KidDangerous: I hate this game and im quitting!!

nah not really.... just thought that would be a nice hook subject....i love this game and im never quitting... where else could i spend 14 units and get 8 hours of live entertainment.
thats one good thing about, even when it isnt a winning night. its still cheap entertainment.
i just love being in a casino. if i had one in my neighborhood, and i was dead broke, id still go sit in the casino and watch the tables.
    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
    ATLANTIC CITY NEWS!!!
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: all the talk about it, i guess i'll tell everyone
about a new deal they are offering. apparently,
some of the pit bosses there are extremely educated.they teach card counting. it turns out, if you walk up to a table.
sit down. buy chips. play and on the first hand, lay your cards down and say rummy.get the rules explained to you. then act all amazed because you didnt know one person knew so much about cards.
this then leads them to explaining how there
are counters that play. people that keep up with what cards have been played. i looked him dead in the eye, and i says, yer f***'n kidd'n me.
no, sir he says. i says, its impossible, thats all fanciful p.r. stunts to get pple to play.
nope. he then tells me the basics of counting cards. and how he can tell when someone is counting. i just shook my head, split my tens, and asked, How? well easy, i just stand and watch them play. if all of a sudden they bet a lot, welll then they are suspect of counting.
mm-hhmm-hmm, man you sure do have your handsful at this casino. yehhhh, well its muh job.
my card counting lesson was closed by it being explained to me how ineffective card counting was
    because, "noone can predict cards".
i thanked him for all his help. he did have an interesting story or two about how it was 30 years ago in a casino.

anyway. hope all the other poor people had a better weekend than me.

    good day to all!!!

    Radar: What a Hoot!

Did he back you off when you jumped 1-8?

Or did you do that while he was telling you how he determines "who is a counter"?

i am a new cownter. so i sometimes flat bet and mentally spread my bets, "just to see". its my way of practicing. this happened to be one of those times. so there was no huge bet spread being doubled. besides afterwards i posed the question to him, " When you were little, did you ride the bus to school, or did you pack your lunch?" ... this kept him busy for the remainder of my stay. so yeh i was in the clear. it was more of a flyby than anything.

besides, the lady in the polka dot dress didnt even hear the dog by the tree bark.

I would recommend that you practice at home. Flat betting and ramping in your head can not be the most beneficial way of learning to count!

you are right. and i do. i practice 2-4 hours every evening after work. that alone is not good enough for me in my opinion. altho a beginner the practice doesnt cost me to terribly much, actually benefits most of the time. but when it does cost me, it costs no more than it would have to go out and spend the evening civilian style.
the more realistic my practice the better. and it dont get no realer that that.

I think your practice at the casino (in addition to the home work) -while entertaining yourself -is a good move.

You learn to really play, it's cheap entertainment, and it keeps you off the street.

As you relay your experience(s) though, keep to what really happens and not what you imagine to be happening in your head.

Keep it up and good luck.

oh im quite certain anything i have relayed has happened. im not dillusional or whatever.
i may not have really been wearing a pinstripe suit with fuzzy duck slippers. but any numbers. win/losses is fact. not imagination.
im not sure anyone would give all the real details on a public forum. if we all lived on an island and there was no way in the world that you could play blackjack unless you played at the one and only casino on the whole island. as a matter of fact this casino had the only cards in existence. and you knew for a fact i played blackjack. when i relayed an event. i would describe a whole nuther place, look you dead in the eye and still not admit i've been in that casino.
