gambler: knowing next card is ace/ten

The boards say, that there is an advantage of 40% for an ace, and 14% for a ten if you know, it?s your upcard. There should be a huge difference, if it is an an single deck, or an 6 deck game. What is the advatage of a ten/ace, when the TC is -2 in a six deck game?

The advantage of knowing the next card to be an ace or ten is many times greater than the advantage of knowing mearly the composition of the remaining cards (i.e. the count) and many, many times greater than the difference that can be caused by different numbers of decks. Also, with an edge this large you are probably constrained by the table maximum anyway. 40% and 14% should be good enough for any count and any number of decks. (Actually, IIRC, it's closer to 50% for an ace and 13% for a ten.)

Magician is right. The advantage of having a first card ace (or 10 for that matter) is far, far greater than any advantage that might be gained from counting. Rarely will you ever see an advantage greater than 5% card counting alone -- especially in shoes games. Even at a -2 count in a 6 deck game, you're a monster favorite with either card.

One Vegas casino (that I don't play because it deals such a lousy game) offered "First Card Ace" coupons ($5 max bet) to anyone who attended their lounge show. I sweet talked a cocktail waitress into grabbing any left over coupons other people unknowingly left behind. She picked up 43 of them before they stopped the promotion.

I got the girl AND $100+ profit!! Does it get any better?
