Hi, I'm looking for advice on buying quality books on blackjack. I know basic strategy already, but I would like to be the best player I can be. If you could recommend any titles/authors I would be most grateful.

Our online catalog lists a good selection of books by reputable authors. Consider starting with Blackjack in the Zone, Revised and Expanded by Rick "Night Train" Blaine, or Professional Blackjack by Stanford Wong.

John Patrick's books contain strategies that have been proven to be mathematically unsound. No knowledgeable player takes Patrick or his books seriously.

Isn't it amazing though .. I was, no kidding, in Barnes and Noble just last night and it seems 50% of the "gaming" books were by Patrick. He's seems to have a book on everything from shootin' marbles to shootin' dice.

Please give the guy some credit for bringing all these people to the casino's.
As a matter of fact, how do we deal with the moral dilemma that advantage players are really robbing ploppies of their money (with casino's as - admittedly well paid - mediators)?

This in itself is not a bad thing. After all let's not forget Ken Uston's follow-up to The Big Player, the seminal Mastering PAC-MAN; and Vancura's classic, Advantage Yahtzee.
