Hey, glad I still draw some attention! ;^)

    Disclaimers:
    - I didn't intend to stir a hornet's nest by undermining the founding principles of this site
    - I indeed find AP.com very valuable
    - I know I am a BJ beginner and I only have to learn from here
    - I can make divisions too, not only subractions... )

I might argue that the reference frame can make some difference...

A $20 bill (or stack) alone is quite different from a $100 one.
But *compared* to 4x $1,000 bills (or stacks) the significance of that difference is much scaled down.

Of course, you base your gambling philosophy on that 2% advantage, and the LONG RUN. I won't dare to belittle that.

I'll get back on the subject to explain my statement and position.
For now I can say that maybe, given my not exceptional gambling frequency and intensity, and my gambling bankroll, to me *variance* is at least as important as edge, if not paramount.

Nevertheless, the theoretical part of BJ is fascinating and passionating, and I still intend over the next months to make a serious attempt in learning to count.
I'll "count" on the advice and support I'll be able to get from this site!

Did I thank you Don & Norm yet for the response? Thanks!

Being I a beginner tho, I'm afraid I can't figure out offhand who is Reid and which is his site...

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
