newtobj: Lame dealer tactics

Playing over the weekend I encountered a dealer who tried to get away with paying me 1 to 1 on a natural, when I pointed it out to him he said oh, sorry, like he made a mistake, but it was obviously intentional. Also he made a few mistakes when totaling my hands, he tried to tell me that I had 15 when I had 17, he told me I had 14 when I had an 18. What is the appropriate etiquette for handling a situation like this?

Proper etiquitte, IMHO, depends:

(1) If you are sure it was intentional, politely correct the oversight, then grab your chips, and RUN for the door!

(2) If accidental, then correct the error politely, ramp up your bet, and keep playing! If your dealer is that prone to errors, they will likely "go both ways". Most pro's suggest never correcting dealer errors that are in your favour.
I usually do, especially if I can do it with the attention of the FP...makes me look "non-pro"...

I subscribe to the belief that it is impolite to constantly be correcting the mistakes of others, so I only point out certain dealer errors (guess which ones) .
