    cadillac: color ko

In Leryo Nimka's color ko, there are several hands that i would have thaught should be surrendered in positive counts: 15 vs 10, 16 vs 9, 16 vs 10

Why do you stand on these hands rather than surrender?

Is this what is referred to as "valuable stand departures" in bja2, pg 73? If yes, is it then more valuable to stand in these positive counts than it is to surrender?

    Thanx in advance

I'm not familiar with your reference, but you are correct: surrender 15v10, 16v9 and 16v10. However, if you have 3 or more cards to achieve those hands, you should stand (if the count is high enough).

example 1: you have 12v10. Hit. Receive a 4. In a positive count, you now stand, rather than hit again.

example 2: you are dealt 16v10 in a positive count. Surrender.

This is indeed confusing. When it seems like there's a conflict, always Surrender if you can.
