Thank you very much. I'll start by carefully reading a couple of books, but then I'll certainly have to practice, and softwares definitely are a better way than casinos.

It takes hundreds of hours of work to develop a good blackjack practice program or simulator. These products appeal to a limited market, so the developer is never going to make a great deal of money.

Don't you think that they are entitled to some compensation for the great deal of work that they have done?

If really the developer doesn't do much money, then yes indeed I agree that it is morally questionable to get the software for free. However, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the softwares usually developped and sold by awfully rich corporations?

As I said, this sort of software appeals to an extremely limited market - the major software corporations have no interest in developing it.

The programs others have mentioned such as Casino Verite, CVData, SBA, and Blackjack 678 were developed by dedicated individuals who are also advantage players, and whom you will often see posting on these pages (Norm Wattenberger, for example, is responsible for Casino Verite and CVData).

The prices they charge for their products are extremely reasonable, considering the quality of the software, the degree of support you will receive, and the countless hours that they have invested in developing it.

In these conditions I totally agree that paying the full price is the only possible option. I'll be glad to encourage such dedicated individuals.
