Nifty: Game Ratings
When deciding where to play I have always looked at CBJN and trackjack's rating of the Casino's edge. eg-.17, -.51 etc. I have noticed a few references that this might not be the "be all end all," that I thought. What other criteria is used to rate a game?

Surely not that!! That value is simply the house's starting edge against a BS player. If you're a counter, then penetration, specific rules that contributed to the edge, and several other factors (crowds, heat) are much more important than the casino's starting edge.
You might read about SCORE, in Chapter 11 of BJA, if you have a chance.

Ugly yellow cover? Binding falling apart? You have the first edition.
The second edition retains all of the info in the original, corrects most of the typos, and has a wealth of new information, including the aforementioned SCORE chapter.
Not to mention an attractive cover and a more sturdy binding. :-)
It may, of course, be ordered from the online catalog link at left.

My second edition looks just like this (except blue). That's what happens when an invaluable resource is used over and over and over...
Any chance of a CD ROM version ;-)

What a concept: Blackjack Attack in the form of a fully searchable database!
Unfortunately, knowing how Don feels about computers, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.
