Sun Runner: BJ Books
Parker -
In August 2001, on the BJ21 board, you mentined to someone that you took four books with you on every trip you take.
One of them was Blackjack Attack.
Would you mind disclosing the other three?
Thanks.

My 4 "American Express" (Don't leave home without 'em) books:
1. The aforementioned Blackjack Attack, 2nd Ed., by Don Schlesinger.
2. The most recent issue of Stanford Wong's Current Blackjack News.
3. American Casino Guide, by Steve Bourie. This lists addresses, phone numbers, etc. of every casino in the USA and has maps as well. It makes a great companion piece for CBJN, expecially if I am visiting an area for the first time.
4. The Unbalanced Zen II, by George C. This is the reference text for the count I am presently using.
And of course, I always bring my trusty laptop, along witb an extension cord, 56K modem, 25 ft. phone cord, finger trackball, and various adapters.

Sun Runner: Re: Sure
Thanks for the traveling book list ...
Here is a bit of paranoia for you who travel more than I.
Have you ever felt that anyone in the employ of the casino ever went through your "stuff" while you were out of your room?
I'm not talking about theft mind you, but maybe that housekeeping is on alert for certain BJ books and that they are to alert the casino security staff if noticed?
Just wondering?

Loco: Funny you should mention it
In one of his books, Ken Uston tells how he used to leave books that advocated progression systems or other similar nonsense lying around his room just in case someone took a peak.
Maybe that's why suitcases have locks.

I doubt that housekeeping is trained to look for such things - they have enough to do as it is.
Unless you're someone like Tommy Hyland, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Nonetheless, I keep my BJ books, notebook, etc., in my laptop case, which has a padlock on it.
And I store it in a drawer underneath my dirty clothes. :-)

Beanie: I left my copy of BJA
in the "reading" area of a casino hotel room and didn't notice until after I checked out. ARRRGH!!! I've since been back to that casino several times with no problems, but sure didn't call the hotel to ask if they found it.
Nice forum Parker.
