    PaddyBoy: resplit aces

I got a dealer to resplit aces tonight, she is new and probably forgot the no resplit aces rule.
How much does this decrease the HE by in 6 deck game.I see from proBJ that this hand happens 544 times out of 100,000.So is it worth much?

    Sidewinder: According to Griffin

PaddyBoy, The Theory of Blackjack states that for one deck the change in expectation will be 0.03% and for an infinite deck it will be 0.08%. For the six deck shoe you're playing the increase will be just under 0.08%. Hit em hard, The Side

Thats not bad.But it is probably just a once off,do new dealers often make mistakes like this and how can I exploit them?

    Sidewinder: Just Do It.

PaddyBoy, There's no harm in trying it with each dealer you play against. The worst that will happen is he/she will tell you it's not allowed. I couldn't say if new dealers make this mistake often as most players, including myself up to now, won't resplit aces if it's not allowed.

Just like a newcomer in every line of work however they will make a fair share of mistakes. Just keep your eyes open as some of them will not be in your favor. Good luck and Hit 'em hard, The Side

I sometimes play a game where as a bonus a pair of aces are paid 2/1 rather than splitting.
Does anyone know if the advantage is icreased and by how much.It is 3.0/4 doa, das etc.

    Sidewinder: Good Deal

Mister M, You're advantage is obviously increased although I don't know by how much. Since aces cannot normally be resplit, or doubled on after the split, the best outcome for a split is 2 to 1 if both hands win. The casino in this case is guaranteeing your win. They sound like a swell bunch! Hit 'em hard, The Side

    Mister M: Re: Good Deal

The game refered to also has some interesting deviations::3.0/4,doa2,das,es(not ace),nhc(lose all),pair aces =2/1,5 card AUTOMATIC win, tied bj's are paid 3/2 if same suit or even otherwise and ace counts as 10 not 11 if drawn as a third card(double with 11 and draw ace = 21 not 12!)Insurance is 2/1.The downside is that bj is paid even money if not same suit(suited is 3/2.The game is Asian but I have no Idea how to caculate the e/v or strategy deviations. Can anybody help??
