I have been out playing bj 14 times now and have only won on 4 occasions and not by much.I have kept a record and have lost on average 15$ an hour.But I am not even spreading much yet as I want to become more profficient before I do.
It doesnt bother me,but I wonder is this common,do most beginners start out losing?
You don"t state what the conditions are or the count that is used so more info please.
Asuming a shoe game,I would not spead LESS than 1-10 as a minimum and generally go 1-15 or 1-20 if there is no heat.The count,br,deck estimation and spread need to given equal attention.[plus many more factors.]Please give details.

The games are 4D,S17,DOA, and 6D,S17,DOA,LS.The penetration is 65 to 75%.The casinos are small,so wonging in is a bit tricky.But doesnt seem to be much heat.
As I said I am not going to start spreading much yet I am just intent on becoming a lot better at counting before I do.
I am going out playing there tonight so hopefully my bad streak will end.
The count i use is highlow,bankroll is 3000$,but is replenishable.The min bet at the tables is 5$ a few are 3$.
Pay special attention to the Pen.levels.
5.0/6 is good and if the ls includes ace also it makes quite a differece.
It's really vital to leave negative shoes or sit out neg.hands if possible.
The hi-lo would be my level 1 choice also but perhaps you can spread 1-3,1-4.It really is not poss. to win without spreading in shoe games[unless wonging]and it will be good practice.
For now ONLY play the 3$ tables.
