Ouchez: Hessel casino is now a

    slot palace.

This quaint little casino snuggled away in a heavenly spot will have no more BJ as of the 26th.

I have always enjoyed the games offered here. There were only 3 tables but good conditions.

It will mean that 7 people will lose jobs.

I have noticed a push on the part of the wilderness casinos to do everything possible to cut costs, usually meaning fewer workers but also less convenience for the patrons. In the end this will only make matters worse for the casinos.

casinos in the U.P. that I never played at. Guess I don't have to consider going there now if no more blackjack. Maybe they will add a few more bj tables at St Ignace to make up for the loss.

Ouchez: Since you write in BJF on these casinos

I am surprised you did not have the full information on a first hand basis.

After all, people pay GOOD money, ($59), for this information and should EXPECT up to date *accuracy* in BJForum.

The fact is that this location once offered some of the best BJ conditions in ALL the UP. Something the readers of BJF were not informed about. Of course I would have been happy about that. I have to wonder what else is being left out through outright omission or inaccuracy or just plain lack of knowledgeable reporting.

And no "maybe" about it, there will be no addition of tables anywhere to make up for this lose.

Next time why not write in great detail about the Wisconsin or Minn. games that you find so good. I am sure the casinos in that area would also like to read about what you have to say.

Be accurate, hold nothing back, people are paying for that info, so give it you're all.

Why do you feel Electric Kid was under any obligation to provide any information at all? I don't write up everythng I see in the MidWest either. It would be a full time job! If you knew all about this stuff, where was YOUR letter to BJF? Hmmm???

E_kid wes nice enough to write an accurate, informative letter to Arnold Snyder, and Arnold was smart enough to pass it along to his readers. It's not as if e_kid makes a living writing about blackjack, for heaven's sake. Maybe he got a free month of BJF. Isn't a little knowledge better than nothing?

Electric Kid: Kewadin Article is Accurate.

First, let me say I haven't received my Fall issue of BJF yet, but I assume the article that was published was the same one that I wrote.

Everything that I wrote about in BJF was true and was based on first hand observations that I observed this summer when I was playing the Kewadin casinos at three different locations. I never discussed Hessel or Manistique in the article because I admitted I never played there, but the rules are the same at all Kewadin casinos with only the pen being different and these rules are well published and are not any secret.

If you noticed Blackjack Forum uses only words like "good", "unexceptional", and "bad" to describe pen so not much is given away with describing pen in these terms and this is how I described the pen at various Kewadin casinos in my article.

If case you are wondering I also report for CBJN
and often update Trackjack. The pen in CBJN is reported to the nearest tenth of a deck. It's much more accurate than the words "good". And yes I do supply CBJN with information on casinos in WI and MN. In fact most(at least alot)of the condition reports on WI and the U.P. of MI in CBJN are my reports, and I don't hold back. If the pen is .4 decks unseen that is what I report.
Like any job I am compensated for, I try to perform this best work possible. Now you know the facts.

the rules are not the same, now YOU know the facts. And no, I am not going to point them out, and neither should you.

Whatever you write in BJF or CBJN is always READ by the casino, they subscribe, get it?

Next time write "first hand observations" on the "Candy Stores", you're term, that you find so thrilling to play at.

    Good cards,

and I say the rules are the same except for
the 3 conditions mentioned in the article which are pen, betting limits, and number of bj tables. However, I also should of said some places have a hand shuffle while others have auto shufflers or a combination of the two. But for the same game at each Kewadin casino the house edge is the same if you are a basic strategy player.

I not only asked if the rules were the same at all Kewadin casinos when I was there, but also phoned them to confirm this. So I say again what rule is different. And I'm not talking about special promotions like 2 for 1 on blackjack that only existed for a short time this past summer. I don't know what is so secret about their rules. I can understand about pen, but their rules. Come on what's the big deal.
