Milk Man: On Track Jack, CBJN and other resources
I understand that every body wants to get the best game conditions and Pen possible. The problem is these reports may not keep up with real world time. In Minnesota and Wisconsin it does not make much of a difference with rules and pen. Where you go is relatively going to be the same. The variation in rules in Minnesota maybe one house stands soft 17 and another house may hit it but offer rsa. Penetration in all casinos are going to vary from dealer to dealer no matter where you play. To cure the pen problem and standardize it. KC casinos and some Vegas casinos have cut grooves in the shoes to make the pen standard. If find most computer or periodical reports on games to not keep up with real world time. In vegas some places seem to chage the games offered on a week day / weekend and seasonal basis. The time the Milk Maid and I drove to Vegas over the summer it seemed there were many playable games. In February and March it seems the casinos want to take advantage of the college spring breakers. The rules and games typically suck. If you know how to count and judge pen I think a Midwestern boy like me has no real need for these periodical or computer reports. They may be a time saver when going to Vegas but may not be worth the price if the information does not accurately reflect the current games offered.

Parker: Resources and road maps
As you point out, conditions in casinos are changing constantly, and it is impossible for any guide to be totally up-to-date and accurate. In addition, penetration is difficult to summarize, and it is entirely possible that two people could walk into the same casino at the same time and walk out with entirely different conclusions regarding pen - and both be right!
Does this mean that these things are useless? Hardly. I liken them to a road map.
A road map may not be entirely accurate. It may not show all the current construction areas and road closures. A local resident of the area, intimately familiar with every street and driveway, has little need or use for a road map.
However, if I am new to the area, I would much rather be equipped with the road map than without it, flaws and all.

I absloutely agree. I'm not going to use any information database for casinos in the midwest. Scouting 3 or 4 is no big deal. But for nevada, you've gotta have some idea of where to look at and where to avoid. The same could be said of a vegas player coming to the midwest. If you want the information on casinos in your area to be more accurate, then submit yourself as a reporter for the database of your choice
