    bjlowroller: Cincinnati BJ?

    Hi
Anyone play in the greater Cincinnati area? Most of the games were junk last time I researched it a couple years ago... but one boat closer to louisville had a decent double deck game.
    thanks!

Things have only gotten worse near Cincy. The place between Cincy and Louisville that had good SD and DD games, Belterra, has transformed itself into a quintessential burn joint. They got rid of SD in February 2002, when they also tightened the rules and pen. on DD, which they just got rid of in November 2002. Their BJ lineup now consists of four to six 6D tables with 66% pen., an abundance of 8D tables with 75% pen., and a handful of 5D CSM tables.

The only DD game in the area is a shoe game at the Grand Victoria (one table only). The rules are good (S17, DA2, DAS), but the standard pen. is an abysmal 45-50%; in addition, they watch it closely, and if they suspect someone is counting, they immediately reduce pen. to 20-30%. The 6D and 8D at Grand Vic. are as bad as the 6D and 8D at Belterra.

The Argosy (the closest casino to Cincy) is all standard 6D (S17, DA2, DAS, no LS). Decent pen. can be had if you shop around, and it is relatively easy to Wong. However, it is extremely crowded, especially on weekends.

Thanks for the update, too bad about Belterra. Argosy allows mid-shoe entry for Wonging? Or do you mean easy enough to get up and find another seat when the deck dives negative?
    Thanks again!

Yes, Argosy allows mid-shoe entry. In fact, they recently started allowing it in the high roller room, where it never used to be allowed; it has always been allowed elsewhere in the casino. One thing I should mention is that $5 tables at Argosy are history, and there aren't a whole lot of $10 ones either. There are plenty of $15 and $25 tables.
