orster52: Spanish21?
In Spanish 21, 8D,H17,DDD,-.44%, what is the value of being paid the bonus for 5,6,7 card hands even if you double?
For instance you ante $1, you get a 4 card 11 and double, so that you now have $2 total bet, you are dealt a 10, and the dealer pays you $3, so that you now have $5 total.
I realize the 5,6,7 card 21s don't happen often but was curious if the extra payments made the game into a positive edge off the top.
Thanks.

NO.
Indeed with that rule set you should be playing against 6 decks, NOT 8 decks.
If you have a multiple card hand that is made up of 4 or more cards and totals 11 or 10 you do NOT double.
You hit.

Yes, it is better to play with less decks. The game is not available with 6 decks at this casino.
Yes, I realize that it is basic strategy to hit some 4 or more card 11 or 10 hands.
In the circumstance I have, with getting the bonus even on a double down, basic strategy should be altered to take advantage of the bonus. It is a mistake to just hit. The real question is what is this worth?
