Garry Baldy: "Digideal" help needed
Hello everybody.
I found a game with the rules "to-good-to-be true". Before flashing any serious money I decided to seek for advice.
This game is electronic BJ machine. But it's not a slot or video BJ. It have real chips and real live dealer. You only get electronic cards, but the reast of the game is the same. At the screen you can see the "electronic" shoe WITH PENETRATION.
Here is the site of manufacturer: www.digideal.com
Question is: anybody knows what's it? Is it honest game or are they trying to hide some random shuffle, CSM-style, under fancy electronic pictures? (Putting aside blind cheating). Advertising on their site says that they made quite a good publicity at some gambling exhibitions but I prone not to trust this information. No real value info was found yet.
Thanks in advance,
Garry Baldy.

If the rules are good enough to give the B.S. player an advantage, it doesn't matter if it's CSM-like or not.
I saw some of these in the Cherokee casino in North Carolina. The players' screens were recessed to make it impossible to count cards unless you were standing.
I didn't play.

I played yesterday. Very unusual thing to count, you need to adjust your brain in several ways. Penetration displayed on the screen was about 5/6. The spread allowed is huge.
Here are two contradictory points.
1. There is the place on the screen of the player showing dealer's cards. It looks like the maximum number of cards it can show is about 8-9. But theoretical maximum in 6 decks s17 game is 12 cards. This leads me to doubt in honesty of dealing algorithm. And this make me nervous about the whole thing.
2. After few hours of play pitboss instructed dealers to press "new shuffle" button every 3 hands on me. That doesn't immediately mean that the game can be beaten by counting - pitbosses tend to be stupid and superstitious. But anyway they somehow figured that I'm not a good customer and took countermeasures.
I left with a small loss, statistically insignificient.
Rules are 6D, S17, DOA, noRSA, ENHC, and Early Surrender against any upcard.
Luck.

The probability of the dealer getting more than 8 or 9 cards is so miniscule it's hardly worth considering. The program probably has some way of handling this; but neither you nor any of the "dealers" will ever live long enough to see it.
You did not say whether or not DAS is allowed.
If so, the B.S. player has a tiny edge. If not, the house has a tiny edge.

Sorry, forgot about DAS. Yes, it is there. But the edge is so low that it's not worth playing without penetration. No comps there, no rebates etc. I still wander if I played honest game or not.

If this is in a licensed U.S. casino, the game is almost certainly on the up and up. In other jurisdictions (including tribal casinos), who knows?
