I have never won anything from that place lol
That's probably why I couldn't get ahead since the positive vibe has already occurred. I've seen some dude was banging on the tables because he keeps getting 13s and 14s. I will play the Palace Station again on my next trip (next month). I will hang in there and put in the hours. This is a shame because I dreamed about being a world class blackjack player and not a gambler or sucker.

My best shoe ever I was still red chipping so the win was not large. The count got good about halfway through the playing zone for the shoe. Then as I raised my bet a round of all low cards came out at the crowded table. The rest of the shoe I was betting max playing 2 hands and getting BJ, splits and double downs on every hand. The only hand I didn't win I surrendered. the dealer always seemed to have a 4, 5 or 6 up and I was catching great cards the entire time. It was unbelievable, like all the stars aligned and the best possible cards came out for 3.5 decks of max bet play.
I saw a near instant RC of +26 today on 6D, maintained a TC+2-4 for almost 3.5-4 decks before it settled down, played through the end of the shoe at TC-2 flat betting just because I felt a little guilty for getting it all out there so fast. Racked up a huge win today, which made me all but forget about my huge loss a little over a week ago in nearly the exact same count/situation, only this time the cards fell my way and often
To the OP: Just keep plugging away man, as long as you know what you're doing and aren't making huge errors, the cards will eventually come your way and start growing that BR of yours.
I know eventually I will get in back but sometimes losing that much money don't make me feel good. Especially if one has an expectation to win due to the probabilities. Assuming I am playing a winning game. I want to make sure I am not gambling (playing with an advantage). I must STOP if I am gambling.

You are still gambling until you get to at least 9 x N0.Then it is more of an advantage play.why do you keep talking about $1000 is a lot of money ? it is not in the game of playing bj with an advantage by counting. Your top bet is your real bet ,never mind or worry about your min or 2x min bets. if you have 200 max bets ,you can still be behind in 100,000 hands quite easily and you can be wipe out entirely (somewhat infrequent) . You can ask some of the guys to do the math.Everyday you walk in there you are gambling until you racked up a certain number of hands ( I like it to be at least 9 N0)without any fatal errors.
What I mean by not gambling is playing the game with a positive expectation going with the probabilities and expected value. If I am not getting an advantage in the long run I don't think I should be playing. I get your point regarding the N0. Even if I am not racking up a certain number hands I want to make sure I am playing the game with a positive expectation.
I just have an uncomfortable feeling if I lose a certain amount of money in a short time (not talking about if $1000 is a lot of money or not). I am talking about my feelings. Unfulfilled expectation makes a person angry.

As long as you can maintain your count and make proper actions with that count, you aren't really "gambling". Sure, there are decisions to limit losses that work in theory, but in the end, just stick to the plan and you'll be fine. I recommend, if you aren't already doing it, keeping a deck of cards with you so you can always practice counting down the deck and building up your visual speed.
As for the expectation, I know how you feel. In 3 weeks I've taken two $1,000+ losses on two forms of AP. The non APBJ play I vowed would be my last (getting tired of things), and have stuck to APBJ since, worked off the non-APBJ loss like it was nothing, found a monster count, dove in head first, loss nearly $1,000 and went home. Now I've worked that loss off, even with all of my travel lately. You just have to stick to it and grind it out, because you'll end up with weekends like I had over the 4th that just blew all expectations away and put me way, way ahead for the year.
Its going to be uncomfortable and make you angry/rage a little. You just have to manage the emotion and focus it towards working harder and really honing your skills, then grinding out the game and making your money
I have seen the word "angry" used in a couple different threads now, in reference to a player feeling angry when losing. I don't get this. Perhaps people are just not expressing the correct emotion? My blackjack results for the year now stand just above $2200. That is for 7 months, 45,600 rounds of play. This compared to my last two years where my BJ results have been $120k+ and $80k+. The handling of long losing an unproductive periods are definitely one of my biggest weaknesses. I am frustrated as hell, but I am not "angry". Who would I be angry at?
Hopefully, this is just a mischaracterization of the emotion that you are feeling. If anyone is really 'angry' at themselves, dealers, other players, blackjack god, whoever, because you are underachieving at the moment, you really need to reconsider playing this game and schedule an appointment with Dr. Buddy Rydell (anger management).
