Parker: Welcome to Vegas, baby!
Welcome to the all Las Vegas, all the time forum. If it has to do with Sin City, this is the place for it.
Naturally, we will talk blackjack. Where are the good games, and which casinos are the biggest sweatboxes? What are the latest rule changes, promotions, tournaments?
However, we will also cover the non-blackjack side of The Meadows. Hotels, restaurants, shows, night life - if it is happening in Las Vegas, let's discuss it.

Bettie: Re: Welcome to Vegas, baby!
Not to step on Parker's toes here, but I admit that I'm a total Vegas junkie (one room in my house is dedicated to Vegas - tshirts, slot cups, shaped drinks, etc.) and I'll be spending a lot of time here putting in my two cents and making suggestions on things to do and see in Vegas.
I'll get things started here (personal choices, all):
Check out Cili, a wonderful Wolfgang Puck managed restaurant on the Bali Hai golf course (just south of Mandalay Bay on the Strip). At lunch time, it's great for elegant business lunches or a hearty sandwich. At night, they serve elegant and large portions of excellent beef, seafood, etc. with a very slight "island" touch for spices, etc. Prices are high at night, but more reasonable than many other great restaurants in town. They also have a fabulous wine list (the master sommelier is famous world-wide).
Best strip club (don't ask): Cheetah's, by far. Comfy layout, great staff, and a variety of women. Prices are great, too (shop around for your cocktails, as prices will vary with server). Also, Striptease is new (a couple blocks from Rio) and worth checking out. Stay out of Playpen. The women look like they're on heroine, and the whole place looks like it was put together with two by fours over a weekend. Jaguar's is coming soon. Owned by the guy who owns Cheetah's, it will be the warehouse of topless entertainment - 140 girls working each 8-hour shift, and more on the weekends! It's supposed to be very elegant on the inside, and lifetime memberships to the VIP areas can be had for $10,000.
New topless shows are arriving everyday, but don't go see one until you've scoured the What's On and other freebie magazines. For instance, Showgirls at the Rio is running $10 off coupons, the musical Tease (the action takes place in a stripclub) has coupons for $15 off, and the show at Harrah's (the name eludes me, though I enjoyed it very much and it has some good-looking men for the ladies in your life) has some 2-for-1 coupons. Also, the new Chippendales show at the Rio runs $10 off coupons in these magazines.
Okay, I hope that gets the ball rolling and that you check out these suggestions and share your own.
Viva Las Vegas!

Parker: Thanks, Bettie
You're certainly not stepping on my toes! Input from LV locals is exactly the sort of thing that will make this forum really take off.
Thanks for the restaurant tip. Suggestions and reviews are great, especially non-casino restaurants.
Best strip club (don't ask): Cheetah's, by far. Comfy layout, . . .
You're making this really difficult here! I'm biting my tongue, er, fingers! :-)
Cheetah's has become part of Las Vegas history, as well. Here, Ted Binion met Sandy Murphy, the charming young lady who was eventually convicted of his murder.
The freebie mags are an often-overlooked source of discount coupons for shows, buffets, and sometimes even gaming (match plays, etc.). They can usually be found somewhere in just about every hotel lobby.

Haven't been but I will check it out the next time I am in town.

Thanks for the greetings Parker.
I will hopefully be hitting sin city and Laughlin sometime in August(a previous scheduled Reno trip fell through).
Will be looking forward to visiting this site whenever I can.
Best of luck.

Always good to hear from you - thanks for posting.
Do I need to remind you how hot Las Vegas is in August? And the fact that Laughlin is usually about ten degrees hotter? :-)
A suggestion - go to the index page and click on "Create a Profile," and create one. It only takes a few seconds and it is not necessary to submit any personal information.
Once your profile has been accepted, your posts will appear immediately on the board, rather than having to wait for approval.
Also, no one else will be able to use your "handle."
