Good link. There is also another video after that one showing false shuffles and dealing seconds. Those moves are tough to spot.

Yes, that is the only way I can spot it, too. The so-called "whisper" difference between legitimate deals and second deals is virtually impossible to detect in some very good seconds dealers. This particular dealer mechanic has a very relaxed mechanic's grip making even that hard to detect. So many dealers have the very same grip. For bottoms dealers, it is a much more apparent grip. One thing I do when faced with a mechanics grip (besides run the other way... ) is to stare intently at the dealer's hands. I can't "see" the seconds deal, but I can make the dealer very uncomfortable, him wondering whether or not I am detecting something, a dealer "tell" he was not aware of. I wouldn't count on it, but this might dissuade him from his purpose to cheat you. Nothing would be more catastrophic for the house and the dealer than to be caught cheating.
