art: Video BJ and Basic Strategy
Since a Video BJ machine reshuffles a single deck for every play, we know counting is useless. But, given AC rules (stand on soft 17, etc.) the single deck basic strategy would appear to be great for this setup.
My question is in the variance. How does the variance on the VBJ machines differ from the 6 deck setups like Borgata has?
I know you play more hands ber hour on the machine, but are your comps more accurately calculated if you do any progression?

Why? You're still playing a negative expectation game. Unless the cashback (from the players club) is sufficient to overcome the house edge (unlikely), I don't see any point. These machines normally have a 2 for 1 BJ payout (meaning even money), resulting in a huge house edge.

Variance would be less, since you would be flat-betting.

Machine comps are based on total coin-in. All a progression will do is increase variance.
