Yes 50% is accurate enough. And it is always relative to the casino win rates. I played at Prague many weekends last year and noticed that suspect decks don't always show up.

When I first started card counting and did not have any knowledge about shuffle tracking,I always suspect the casinos of cheating after losing at super high counts and the high cards did not show up before the shuffle.

I had also came across many CCs(without s/tracking)who have lost thousands of dollars at these situation, complaining about their "bad luck".

My experiences had proved that super high counts only occur when lots of high cards clump and were cut towards the end of the shoe.If you are lucky, you may be able to see them before the shuffle or sometimes you don't see them at all.

Say you have a RC of 18 after 1 deck and you start to raise your bet.Not knowing the location of the clump(let's presume about 20 high cards clumped at the 5th deck),you were actually betting at RC -2 from 2nd deck onwards till the 5th.Sometimes the count keep rising and you feel more excited and keep increasing your bet.
How do you expect to win at this situation unless you are really lucky. When you finally see the cards out on the table, you probably will curse and swear because your several hands of 20s(2xTens) tied the dealers 20 or dealers hit an Ace with his Ten.

I believe many of us in this board have similar experiences.

For those who can't track, stop complaining about cheating and try to upgrade yourself. You can easily tell if you are playing in an honest casino after a couple of shoes.

    Good Cards.

tomto: But this is how counting works!

If you see 20 small cards at the beginning of the 6D shoe of course you do not know where the big cards are if you have not tracked.
But you have the advantage statistically!
And of course the dealer, too, has more 20s and BJs on high counts, and the propability for dealer to bust with a 10 up goes down on high counts.
    That is the game!

    Hi there,

We've heard about the cheating at Praque but what about other European capitals like Budapest and Bucharest. Does anyone have any bad tales from these locations?

    Orson: Budapest, Bucharest

No, the games are probably honest there. Budapest has relatively bad rules and AFAIK only 3 casinos. Bucharest has better rules and more casinos, but the heat is enormous, and all casinos do share info. You can expect to be out of business in 2-3 days.

    Regards,
