    KO System Soft 19 and 20

    Looking for guidance/advice on KO counts for doubling A8 and A9 for 2D and 6D (H17, i.e. Dealer hits soft 17). Thank you!

    Instead of guidance or advice, I'll give you the indices.

    1) 2D,H17,IRC = -8

    A9v6 = +1
    A8v6 = -6
    A9v5 = +1
    A8v5 = -4

    2) 6D,H17,IRC = -24

    A9v6 = +1
    A8v6 = -14
    A9v5 = +3
    A8v5 = -7

    Sincerely,
    Cac

    Thanks Cac! Quick question…Is there a typo in the IRCs? They seem to be off by 4. My understanding from the KO book is that 2D has an IRC = -4 and 6D IRC = -20.

    You can use the IRC that suits you best. This IRC is convenient if you want to convert to TC. Some people use an IRC equal to 0 to avoid negative counts, while others use the one from the book.
    Either is correct as long as you adjust the indices accordingly. If you want to use the IRC from the book, then you have to add 4 to the indices I provided.

    Sincerely,
    Cac

    Got it. Thanks again Cac!

    Since I have several other indices I’m looking for (as the KO book doesn’t address soft hands, hard 17, doubling 7/6/5, pairs, etc.), what software would you suggest I use to calculate the indices?

    Kind regards,
    E21

    The most recommended software for this task is undoubtedly CVDATA.

    Thanks Cac! In the meantime, if it’s not too much trouble sometime his week, would you mind providing the indices for Splitting TT, Hitting Hard 17, and Doubling Hard 7? (I’ll look into getting the software when I’m back at a computer next week.)

    All the best,
    E21

    1) 2D,H17,IRC = -8

    TTv6 = +2
    TTv5 = +2
    TTv4 = +3
    7v6 = +7
    7v5 = +7
    7v4 = +9
    17vA = -13

    2) 6D,H17,IRC = -24

    TTv6 = +2
    TTv5 = +3
    TTv4 = +6
    7v6 = +14
    7v5 = +15
    7v4 = +19

    Enjoy.

    Sincerely,
    Cac
