    CVData Actual Results Question

Hello all. Question about the Actual Results function of CVData. I'm experiencing what I hope is just [very] negative variance. Since my stakes have gone up and rules have changed (H17 v S17) which has cost me .20% in house edge, I want to make sure I'm actually seeing variance or something else. So the actual results functions top line is how much won or lost. The question I have is if, say you brought in for 1000, won 200 and then lost 800. In the amount won or lost area do you count from your initial BR/ Buy in, OR do you count the loss from the session high? Thanks in advance.

Initial bankroll. In your example, you lost $600
You started with $1000 and ended up with $400

Thanks. I guess what I'm trying to figure out are the odds of falling off a session high into a large losing session. I'm not a stranger to downswings but this "new to me" elimination of rather large wins to significant initial BR losses is troublesome. Mind you a huge chunk of that have come from lost 10 v 10 doubles at max bet (lost every one of them for the past 3 sessions).

You need to get used to this. It's a given for the game and is extremely common.

Thanks Dscles. The thing I'm having a problem wrapping my head around is having a 3SD equivalent loss from the high (early in the session). This is the first time in years of play that I've seen this behavior. This is more like VP play where it is a -EV game and hence steep drops from [significant] highs are expected and the norm.

Steep drops from blackjack highs are expected and the norm. Peter Griffin estimated that we spend about 2% of our playing time at an all-time high.
