    I'm currently studying playing deviations

I'm currently studying playing deviations. It says to stand on 16 against a 10 when the running count is positive. Can anyone explain why you wouldn't stand on 16 against any dealer card showing when the running count is positive? It seems like if the odds of staying on 16 are better when the running count is positive, why not stay on any dealer up card?
    thanks!

There are indices for other up cards.

You're no more likely to bust hitting 16 vs. a 7,8,9, or 10. But you are more likely to take the risk of hitting, make a hand, and still lose, when playing against a ten.

If a 7 is showing, you're like 1% behind if you catch an ace, winning if you catch a 2, and crushing if you catch a 3, 4, or 5.

If a ten is showing, you're crushed if you get an ace, losing with a 2, barely winning with a 3, and only solidly winning if you catch a 4 or 5.
