Given it sounds like you were trespassed, it's not worth the risk of going back and being arrested. Time to start travelling to different regions and spreading your action across multiple stores and shifts to limit your exposure.

My experience is that back counting is way too difficult to do without being obvious. I tried it at a place that I do not regularly play. I was doing everything possible to not be obvious. Two different dealers asked me what the count was when I sat down.

Before forming your strategy and sitting down to play, you should always always think like they do in order to give yourself the best chance of not being backed off and knowing when to leave. Let's say that you are in Loss Prevention for the casino. Would you rather back someone off when they are down or when they are up? If they have determined that you are talented, why wait until you have their money to give you the boot?

G Man what are your thoughts? You been around for a while. I never thought I would have to deal with this since I was so new and never saw it coming. Any tips you have in order not to get caught?

Card counting is a simple method that was been around for 60 years, disseminated online, in books read by millions, and films.

If you don't want to get caught you will need to do something that isn't as widely known.

I was away from home playing a high sweat shithole sharing a $5-$200 table with incompetent ploppies. Every single card counter I’ve known has been backed from this low class joint. I have played there for years - 2-4 times per year, usually for shits and giggles.

I’ve never been backed off there - have been half shoed - told I was not preferred clientele, fed me drinks hoping variance would get me etc etc, but have not been backed off. Why is that despite my ridiculous win rate? I was the only winner at this table - fighting unremarkable cards playing an excessivly long session of close to 3 hours earning a paltry $350 or so with my highest bet being 2x60 - seriously.

One of the secrets is looking bad! After awhile - they know you’re not bad

Last performance - was grilled by critter for first name, further indicating she remembered me from days gone by.

CASINO COMPORTMENT. Think about it - I’ve addressed the issue many times in different ways.

I can read your posts here and I know how they caught you. But you couldn't figure it out? You were hanging around back-counting and hitting them at the same time daily. And you were there enough that some guy even knew about your proclivity to not provide an ID.
I mean, this is all pretty obvious, isn't it?
Trying to jump in all the time on positive counts is easy to detect. If I was there watching you I'm pretty sure I would figure out what you were doing pretty quickly. If I can see it then so can somebody else.

Do you really think you can pull off a disguise after showing up daily? Sure, it could be possible. But it seems they've figure you out and have noticed you. Going back at the same time again isn't likely to be successful for you in a disguise. MAYBE if you show up during a different shift.

But you seem to have some issues with awareness and meta-game. I'm guessing your backcounting might look more obvious than it should as well just based on some of the other aspects where you weren't doing so hot.

Not obvious to me as I just started this endeavor but thanks for your input. yea I wasn't aware that they look for the small fish. What is the meaning of meta game?

Like most things in BJ, it's not all about the math, but part art, act, etc.

Are you standing behind the table, staring intently at it for many rounds? If so, that's a dead giveaway. Are your lips moving as you're back counting? That's a no no.
If there are TVs in the pit, watch the TV and occasionally glance at the table to get your count. If not, pretend to be on the phone.
Learn how to recognize the cards by the pips, so you can be a good distance away and still track it. I can stand 20 ft away and count two tables simultaneously. Or pretend I'm watching one table, then sit down at an adjacent table that it wasn't obvious I was watching. And so on.

I haven't followed your posts, so don't know what your spread or betting average is. If it's low, they place is simply a sweat shop. Time to move on elsewhere.

I'm just starting out, was building my bankroll. Simply cashing in with $100 and using the houses money from there. Minimum is $15 but on some occasions I would bet $150-$250 a hand however I would be ramping prior to those amounts. My average win was peanuts, however I cleared lil over $2, 000 in a week. I guess I was just testing all of this stuff.

I'm wondering if not getting a players card makes it look even more suspicious?

Best NOT to use a player's card. Your pic will fade away over time. Without your name, their records are limited and it's harder to flag you to other casinos in the area as an anonymous player.

While you may have more backoffs playing anon, it's still a better approach.
