If I understand correctly, when you started the hand, you were dealt two separate cards, a 7 and a 2, for a total of nine? That is how it is supposed to be, yes. Just like in a regular blackjack game with a live dealer, you get 2 cards to start the hand.

When you indicated "hit", you should have only received one card. It sounds like the screen/button is messed up and registered two hits.
