I'd like to preface this post by saying that this thread contains some extremely valuable information and discussion, albeit off topic.
Even though I feel like this thread is already off topic enough (I personally don't mind much, but perhaps other do) I would still like to ask T3 a question about what he does.

This is might be one of the less important, but certainly glamorous benefits of what you do (I assuming answer to this question is yes):
Does your system help you pass (or is it fail) skill-checks? As in, does it make easier to count undetected and if so, to what degree?
I understand that there will be a lot betting you'll be doing different from the standard approach, but you'll still be betting advantages which may or may not be still picked up by surveillance through their normal screening procedures.

It can but that depends. Most sessions have you make surprising bet moves but rarely the system plays just like the linear system. You still have to spread to win but most of the time linear counters are slightly over betting their actual advantage and far less frequently they are greatly under betting just as iCount's link shows. They bet to the average of all situation which is represented by the dot on the blue lines in the link's graph. Usually if I catch heat its one of those rarer times that my play is about the same as a linear approach would do for an entire session. It all depends on deck composition. Generally my bets are more muted but I am taking full reduction in RoR rather than betting more to keep RoR the same. When I use the same RoR etc compared to the linear system then my equivalent bets will be much larger. Things are still being hashed out so I am treading cautiously. I can identify much more accurately deck compositions that should be abandoned or when more patience is warranted for wonging out purposes.

Do yourself a favor and forget about the count. It's the least important thing when getting money from counting. HiLo is still the king for card counting. The days of counting aces on your toes, etc are long gone, unless you got a time machine back to the 80s. Shoes are the norm, so just learn hilo unless you play really goood single and double deck games, then switch to HiOpt II

I ran into a losing streak a while back. I hated Bj, the stores, dealers, etc... I had just enough information and skill to be dangerous to myself. What worked so well in one store wasn't working in another. I figured it out later on it was the deck penetration. It through me off that bad once I figured it out it gave me something else to look for when selecting a game. Just my experience anyhow.
