GeoC: 47 years and *counting*

I'll be starting my 47th year playing professional blackjack; the purpose of this post is to help some of you get to the black chip level and feel that I'm qualified to give that help.

Congratulations, George. Welcome back! Here's my first question: Since Thorp's book appeared in 1962, actually, less than 45 years ago, what were you doing before its publication?

My first post in a while may have a dating error in it. I thought I started in April of 1961 but could have been April of 1962. I still have records from back then, so I'll dig them out and see. BTW for the group I started with a $200 bank playing $1 to $3 in silver. I parlayed that into a bank large enough to bet 2 x $1000. Can this still be done today? I think so, but it won't be easy.
I'll show those of you who are interested how in future posts.
