    MJ: CV Questions

    CVCX:

When Play 2 hands is set (play all) and there are a total of 3 players, does CVCX assume 3 or 4 betting spots are played in total? I would think 4 spots, but I know that is not the case for backcounting.

% Win/Loss: Is this TBA or IBA?

    CVData:

Does SE apply to TBA or IBA? Which one is a better measure of advantage (excluding SCORE of course)?

Are there any tricks to determine the EV/Shoe?

Four. Three for lower counts if you have it set that way.

    IBA

    IBA.

Same as IBA. Do you mean win rate per shoe? That would be WinRate*Hours/Shoes

    Thanks for the answers.

I am not switching back and forth between 1 and 2 hands if that is what you mean when you mention three.

If play two hands for all counts is set, would this be considered an 'estimate'? You mention in the help section that Play 2 Hands is an estimate, but I cross checked the figures on CVData and they were virtually identical. I think you meant switching back and forth between 1 and 2 hands is an estimate, but I just wanted to clarify.

One other important point. For any given set of rules and decks, does CVCX actually run 2 simultaneous simulations, one for 1 hand and another for 2 hands? I don't see how else it could spit out such accurate figures for playing two hands (play all).

    > IBA

Seeing as IBA (EV) only pertains to the initial wager, shouldn't players be more concerned with TBA as that includes splits and doubles? I don't see why some players use IBA over TBA as the benchmark for game comparisons.

    Good idea.

It's a very good estimate. The methodology was developed by David D'Aquin.

This is a more complex methodology I developed and is not as close. But there currently is no other methodology for this problem.

No. If you always play the same number of hands, and you do not use cover play, the effect of going from one hand to two hands play all is not that complex. At least for multiple decks. It's when you switch numbers of hands that the TC frequencies are altered -- and that makes for a complex situation.

IBA is required for any calculations involving risk as the initial bet puts at risk the total bet. Everything keys off of the initial bet.

    MJ: Multi-betting strategy

What is the purpose of running a sim using the multi-betting strategy/bankroll feature turned on? I tried it out but don't quite understand what is being determined. The player is suppose to be using different bet schedules based upon fluctuations in the bank. How many units does the player start with? Does the output represent some sort of an average that takes into account different betting levels as the BR fluctuates? I could see the purpose if the SimSession feature is on.

Oh, I also tried using the ComboSim feature. I combined two sims within seconds, but then when I tried opening the file in the archive, a run-time error popped up, number '13'. This problem occurs no matter which sims I combine.

Ye it is used with Session features to determine risk when you change betting according to bankroll.

TOOLS-EXPORT. Send me the backup file and tell me what sims you tried to combine.
