    Hard Rock Atlantic City.

I'm here now and wow! The old Taj never looked so good. There's a lot to cover so I may be making more than one post.

All blackjack on the main floor is machine dealt. Unfortunately there are 6 CSMs that I saw. The rest are ASMs that deal either 6 or 8 decks depending on the pit.

It's a very busy Friday night and there are still $10 minimums and not just the CSMs which are not all in use. There are a few 6 deck games at $10 minimums, some with S17. You really have to walk the floor and check every pit.

There is a $25 pit that is S17 but it is 8 decks. Pen is 1 1/4 decks with the dealers strictly going by the notch on the shoe.

High limit is the usual 6 deck S17.

All tables have Lucky Ladies and the lower limit tables have super 4.

Last but not least surrender is offered at all tables.

What is Ocean Resort like. I believe they are also having their grand opening in Atlantic City.

Sorry for the confusion on my part. The notch is indeed 1.5 decks. The dealers have been placing the cards a little forward accounting for the deeper pen. What I meant by strictly was that once they find the notch they agonize over the placement, often pulling the cut card back out 2 or 3 times. At the end of the shoe they also plug into the discard rack even though they use ASMs. A casino that is paying for shuffle machines is obviously concerned with hands per hour so I would expect to see these wastes of time tweaked in the future.

Things are all over the place right now. There are 6 deck H17, 8 deck S17, ASMs and CSMs. Again, the fine tuning should come.

A second look at the high limit room shows pen around 70% on these 6 deck games. There are 2 notches on the shoes in this room and dealers are using the deeper one to get the so so pen. A couple of dealers have taken it upon themselves to go deeper than the notch.

Offering surrender was a smart move on Hard Rocks part. They will make a lot of money on it as even the good players are using it improperly.

I was going to start a separate thread but there's nothing to see here folks. Ocean Resort still looks like Revel, feels like Revel and plays like Revel.

The main floor is 8 decks, H17, ASMs, no surrender with 70% to 75% pen. It was dead this morning so I'll return later to see if I might have missed any S17 or 6 deckers on the main floor. I got distracted by the wife beater who took on 4 security guards on the escalator. I told you it felt like Revel.

The high limit room, formerly Ultra Lounge, is 6 deck S17 with no surrender. I didn't get to see the pen because nobody was playing. Again, I told you it felt like Revel. Like the Golden Nugget high limit pit, surrender may be requested in this room. It's not advertised and you will have to drag it out of them. Here's a good one.

While surrender may be requested, you don't just walk in and ask for it. They want to check you out with your host first. I think we all know what that means. If you have played without surrender at any point in the day then ask for it, you will be denied. You will have to start the next day with surrender. I think it's a 24 hour period. No, you can't make this stuff up.

Yeah, I worded that wrong. Machine shuffled. I don't know, maybe I caught a glimpse into the future. I won't be shocked when that day comes.

Ocean offers the Super 4 and Match the Dealer side bets. No lucky ladies here.

Try asking for 2:1 on BJs. See how they react :-)

I found the S17 tables at Ocean Resort. The pit is in front of the card center and is hand shuffled, no surrender and 75% pen. Traffic there is picking up but the high limit room is still dead. Hard Rock is absolutely crazy. It's becoming difficult to move around in there.

Speaking of the card center there have been long lines at both new casinos to obtain a 'coveted' player's club card. Well over an hour.

I have it on good authority that showboat is opening another 500 rooms.
