    How many rounds per hour?

Ok so I did a short experiment the other day at a table with 6 spots. I actually counted how many rounds were played over the course of a hour. It was a meager 46 rounds. Kind of sobering. Players bought in, left the table, dealer seemed somewhat slow, etc.

In general, if one wishes to play 100 rounds per hour, at most how many players should be at the table? The problem in the Northeast is that the tables that tend to be open are few so the players must all condense to a handful of tables. This leads to tables being packed. Easier to manage I guess. This is why it is best to play higher table minimums if you can afford it. I'm sure the graveyard shift has fewer tables but who wants to play at 2 a.m.?

Any suggestions on maximizing rounds per hour?

Don’t go when it’s crowded. 12-2am is the prime time. When people are drunk and ready to spent money.

46 rounds per hour seems very slow to me and way below average. I assume you are talking about a brick and mortar casino. I recently counted how long it takes a live online dealer to deal a round. I did not count for an hour, but for one hand from the time the dealer started dealing to the time he started dealing the next hand and it was around 45 seconds with 6 or 7 players at the table. I thought this was very slow, but even if it was 60 seconds a hand that would be 60 rounds per hour. Most of the time online dealers don't shuffle their own cards. Someone comes to the table and hand shuffles right beside the dealer. If they are short on help the dealer will shuffle, but most of the time there is very little down time between shoes.

I did this to determine how long I will need to play to get the play thru requirement for online promotions. Most of the time live online dealer is just to slow for the promotion. With regular online games you can easily play 6 or 7 hands in a minute.

Hmm. I usually end up playing with 2 or 3 other people at the table. I just assumed I was playing 50 hands an hour, but I never actually kept track. I guess I was pretty close (based on this sample size of one!!)
