I’d heard about counting, and started searching in earnest when 8 lost $65. It was also a great time to really learn about what my dad was all about.

I researched and read and read. Accumulated several decks, numbering them 1 thru 312, bought a shoe, and practiced hi lo in my den - dealing decks less 3 or 5 cards And then determined all the possible hi card, neutral and low card Combinations. I read and practiced some more.

I was encouraged by someone to try halves, did so and repeated the process above. I seasoned myself thru lots of play, had the benefit of quality red chip games. Remained at that level far beyond the point I could have moved up in stakes. The reason for that was to stay under radar. In due course, red chip conditions Worsened, and at 85k bankroll moved to green chip mins.

Long story short - any one so motivated does not need Colin. Certain attributes are however, required for success. I was fortunate in that I never needed Blackjack to pay bills, and so I reinvested all profits into bankroll growth.

Even if I had the skills and bankroll to go pro as a young man, I don’t believe I would have done so. Got married, had kids and I didn’t want to spend long periods of time away from home. Blackjack has been a fun and profitable past time as well as a challenge on what others have described as mindless.
Ugg when will this verbal diarrhea stop?
And the self-aggrandizing? It's becoming clinical again with this guy.

Again, all you do here is throw insults. Look at your posting history.

To tell you to go fuck yourself would be against thE rules. I don’t think I’ll do that.

However, I think it might be a good idea if you did so. I believe that to b3 within boundaries.

You know that isn't true...not sure why you always say it.

After watching Holy Rollers I realized that Ben Crawford was the true leader of the team. Colin seemed more behind the scenes running the numbers and producing graphs for team meetings. This isn't to say Colin isn't a great BJ player. He clearly has the ability to market and teach. Simply an observation that he seemed more along for the ride while Ben made the big calls and ultimate team direction. Making it relatable to the thread for BJA - I am using his free training platforms in combination with CVCX and Verite BJ. This past week I have dedicated to mastering basic strategy with over 1,000 hands per day. Excel file shows that I range from 98 - 100% (more recently 100%) without a timer and currently working with a 5 second timer to get the heart rate going. The upcoming 3+ weeks will be solely spent on card counting. Current goal is to roll out my first casino visit in late October at very small stakes.

Are Colin and Ben even friends anymore? All I see Ben doing these days is running across the country with his family.

its good that you’re dedicating yourself to some type of regimen. I see no mention of basuc strategy deviation, I.e. index play.

get yourself a copy of Wong’s professional blavpckjack. Since you’re following BJA lessons you’re more than likely playing hi lo. The hi lo indexes in professional blackjack start at about 250 to so.

I too am learning and taking a very regimented approach to practice and counting before stepping inside a casino again. I have many questions and ideas and would like to introduce myself to Forum but do not want to high jack this thread. What is the best place to make an introduction? Thank you.

why don’t you respond to the opening post tell him what your regimen is, both of you might find something of value to the other. In that post, you can introduce yourself.

    Thanks, my regiment is:

In order, master each step before moving on:
    1) Basic Strategy (1 week)
    2) Card Counting (Hi Lo) (3 weeks)

    Test back counting in casino

    3) Bet spread (modeled using CVCX) (completed)
    4) Deviations (I-18) (1-2 weeks)

    Play low stakes

Primarily using software to increase reps/verify game/expedite the process.
