    Strange REKO strategy

Per my REKO strategy one should hit a 12 vs the dealer's 4 up to an RC of -6. Anybody else follow this apparent deviation from Basic Strategy?
And how should one deal with the inevitable outrage of table mates?

Tell the table mates that the new book said hit 12 against 2, 3, 4. They will blame the author.

    Wait! There are other people?!

Your hand, your decision. That's it. Anyone doesn't like it, make some bullshit up that sound ploppy-esque.

For these (negative count) minimum bet deviations especially when it’s just barely over the index, I like to ask the table if they prefer I hit or stand. Ask the guy with the most money on the table. Helps you look less serious about the game and less robotic, which is decent cover for cents of -ev

Why don't you just ask them to deal 50 rounds per hour while you're at it.

Well, outrage of the table from OP implies a packed table, which is already at 50 rounds an hour. Already discussed in the thread.

Ideally, play alone but asking one or two people a one word answer question at a rare occasion of playing in -1< TC < 0 but before wonging out for an already uncommon hand of 12 v 4 or 13 v 2 would definitely not slow a person down from over 100 hands an hour to 50 hands an hour.
