Just recently I had my roof shoveled for the second time this year. I normally don't do this twice in a year, but water was dipping on the inside of my bathroom window due to an ice dam. So off comes the snow one more time this year, and then the guys put something called "roof melt" (calcium chloride-hope it is safe for the roof) on the ice plus pounded the hell out of the ice. Anyway, I now estimate my total snow removal costs for the year will be near $1,700.

Hear is a couple of pictures from the inside looking out.

Here is a shot from bedroom/computer room. Notice the big snow pile the end loader piled up across the street to make room for more snow.

You must really enjoy the Upper Peninsula. What is it? Family? Work? Beauty? Winter sports? Other? All?

Damn, right now we are getting hammered by winter storm "Taylor." Seems like every weekend there is a new storm. I finally got my second car out yesterday. It was actually frozen in the ice. It wouldn't budge when I tried to move it. It required more shoveling and ice pounding, but finally got it out. However, it is now all snowed in again with winter storm "Taylor."

I have no place to push any snow with my yooper scooper as the snow pile from the roof is blocking the path to my snow dump area.

Another rough weather week in the good ole U.P. I spent 1.5 hours at the beginning of the week shoveling out from winter storm "Taylor." Then along comes storm "Ulmer" dumping rain instead off snow. I was sure glad I had my roof shoveled before the rain hit as the area has seen more roof collapses.

Okay, rain means time to get the ice mat chopped up in the driveway. I spent a couple hours out in the rain getting my driveway down to payment. I was too tired to work on the path, and then "Ulmer's" cold side dumped another 6 inches of snow last night. I will have to go out and shovel tonight.

There is only so much you can take. I have heard before of somebody pulling out a gun and blasting away at a slot machine, but this is the first time I heard of someone blasting away at the snowbank with his gun. Anyway next week looks great, but right now I will have to shovel again.

    Damn that snowbank:

And for Bubbles. Yeah, start a fire to melt the snow:

I will never understand why people choose to live with all that white, cold sky fluff. Why not have a super steep roof so you don't have to shovel it off your roof? And why not just stay inside until it melts?

The snow contest is on. Who can guess the date when the last bit of snow will be gone from my yard? Lately it has been around the end of May. However, sometimes I help it along by spreading it around so my spring clean up guy can get in the yard sooner. No guarantees this year. I might not even be around to see it as May is my favorite time for blackjack trips. Anyway the date I pick for the snow to be gone in my yard this year is May 25th at 4:00 p.m.

I have no prize, but was hoping Zee might consider donating his shoe box as the prize (empty of course). It appears to have brought him good luck so far.

And if this doesn't satisfy your thirst for contests here is another one for you. It appears the winning date has already been picked in this contest, but you can still win a consolation prize of a "Think Snow" bumper sticker. I'm sure 21forme will really want to try for this.

21forme visits the good ole U.P. Nice disguise for the casino. Maybe you can let Zee in on the disguise.

And the biggest April Fool's joke of all is I can't even read the article. I used up my free articles to the Washington Post. So for those who can view the article. I hope it was good.
