GW: Hello & Count Speed Effective?

Hello to all from a New Member!
I read Dons reply to Young Gun on BJ21 and followed his Post here and the Reply, & decided to put up my first post ever- even though I had been following the Green Chip for several weeks.
What count speed, using simple Hi-Low does one generally need to attain, in order to not be losing the count and be effective playing a Benchmark Rules 6D game. Now I realize Dealers come in different speed variety's, but I guess I am refering to a game with maybe 1 or 2 other players! I have been studying pretty hard with BS, and I'm pretty solid at a running count of 25 seconds for 1 deck with 98% accuracy and I'm anxious to start & wondering if I'm ready? I know I should just go play! I have your book the Ultimate Weapon, and some others, and CVBJ V.4. Is CVBJ tuneable, and if so what settings would you recommend? I'm curious what your response's are?
    Thanks!

The general "thumb rule" is that you should be able to consistently count down a deck in 30 sec or less with no mistakes.

However, a more important question is whether you can maintain the count amid all the distractions in a casino.

Even people who count down a deck in well under 30 sec have been known to fail miserably the first few times they try it in a real casino.

    Welcome!

CV has some super drills for counting, both in counting down decks and also for playing a simulated game. Do all of them. practice until you're accurate almost 100% of the time.

Then play for stakes smaller than what will be normal for you.
When you're fully confident that you're playing accurately, move up to your normal stakes.

    Good luck!

    Thank you,
I appreciate the help, I have a store close by that has a couple $3 tables, and I know one of their Dealers, a nice young man, his name is Tim, he comes from a large Family, I coached his younger brother in Hockey many years ago, and so I phoned him at home just to ask some questions, and he was very helpful, but he told me they had a player about 3 weeks ago, who won $30,000. I said "WOW" how much was he betting, he said well, he started out with green chips and played for several hours and was betting $1,000 per hand at the end! Tim said he's been there for 6 years and 1st time he has ever seen the yellow chips come out. There was a small crowd watching the game, but they let him play until he decided to quit, and even gave him a security escort to his Car, after he cashed in! So I asked him if they would let him play again if he returned and he said yes I,m sure they will. It's not a very big store, so I mentioned this to another player, that I know, who is a skils only player, and plays there also, and he said, I'm surprised they had enough on hand to pay him off!
This lack of heat and actually some support, is in much contrast to everything else I have been reading, just thought you would be interested!
Thanks again for the advice, much appreciated!
