David Spence: Optimal betting for casino-imposed loss limit

In Missouri, you are forbidden from buying more than $500 worth of chips every two hours. This limit is reset on even hours (12:00am, 2:00am, 4:00am, etc.) To reduce the effect of this limit, it's best to buy chips whenever you can, even if you don't need them at the moment. It's also best to begin just before an even hour. If you begin at 3:50pm, for example, you can buy $500 immediately, then wait 10 minutes and buy another $500. Cash bets and transferring chips between players are not allowed.

So, assuming that this casino-imposed limit is the limiting factor, how should one bet for 2D, H17, DAS, NRSA, 60%pen, 1-8 spread? Another significant factor is the "temporary ROR" you're willing to tolerate. Maybe try 10% and 25% to see how they compare.

I realize that determining a betting ramp for this is complicated and depends not only on how many chips you have at the moment, but also on how close you are to an even hour.

Figure out what ROR you will accept, then set that as your trip ruin for an hour's worth of play and determine your unit. Do this every time you rebuy. (There's a trip ruin calculator in CVCX).

Why don't you just take a couple friends, have everyone buy in a few times and not play, consolidate (outside of the casino) and come back another day?
