Magician: What are the two boxes below the "Post New Message" form?

This question is probably for Parker or Viktor. What are the two input boxes that appear in the "Post New Message" form, immediately below the "Preview Message" and "Post Message" buttons on the left margin. In the HTML source they are called "url" and "url_title" (not to be confused with the input boxes above called "url_777" and "url_title_777"). I'm using Firefox 2.0 if it matters.

I've been meaning to ask for a long time. I'm curious whether this is a bug, a quirk, something to stop spammers, or something else?

I'd call it a quirk. It first showed up after we upgraded the server. Viktor may have a better answer.

Something to stop spammers. Robots try to post text into them, and their posts are automatically refused.
