    buddha: Unit Size

How should unit size be calculated? I'm comfortable with a max bet of 1% of my bankroll but was unsure of unit size for a half-kelly betting scheme. Or, perhaps unit size is a moot point as I've always just bet according to my advantage (or what I think my advantage is) on each hand.

Try CVCX. The 1% max bet is just a rule of thumb. Half kelly betting, strictly speaking, has no fixed unit size. Your unit size will vary with your bankroll (and your advantage). I don't think anyone bets this way in the real world. You can approximate kelly betting by decreasing or increasing your max bet when your bankroll grows or drops to a predetermined level. If you are interested in the math behind optimal betting here is a link.
