MB: Kudos from the Dark Side

RGE Publishing should be commended for taking the commercial risk by investing in the production of quality products for a very limited market.

Blackjack Attack is a prime example of a beautifully produced book and I can see that considerable effort and expense has gone into producing Larry and Norm?s collaborative work.

Steve Forte also went down the same track with his new book.

I hope that resisting the urge to produce material as cheaply as possible turns out to be a commercial success.

As a side issue do you have any idea what percentage of this material ends up in casino libraries?

For the newbies, "MB" is Michael Barnett, founder of Surveillance Technology, an Australian-based outfit whose website states, "Surveillance Technology act as consultants to the casino industry in the area of gaming risk, or more specifically, the risk posed by professional advantage players."

    Brick: Well,what do you think?

You can probably answer your own question better than most of us. I can give you my general opinion which is not held to book sales. Personally I feel the internet does more damage to us card counters than good. This is due to many casino trolls and lurkers(such as yourself?) who will often pose as imposters of advantage play and ask many questions. The sad part is many self-proclaimed experts and card counters are too eager to help these fools without giving it a second thought. If fact they are fools themselves. In particuliar these threads often start at BJ21,which I'm sure you often lurk there and probaly post under aliases. It's amazing how many of the so-called bigshots will help to provide a free consultation service to these imposters. If I made a living playing blackjack like some of these guys claim to be doing, there is no way I'd respond to a questionable post. I could not tell you how many trolls post over there claiming they have a team with a 100k to 500k bank, but yet they ask some fundamental questions that even a first born newbie would know the answer to. Dont make much sense, does it!?

I have an interesting question. Has RGE sold BJ advantage books that were actually addressed to a casino?

Absolutely! Arnold had a long list of surveillance departments as subscribers to Blackjack Forum magazine, and I frequently get requests for Blackjack and the Law and now Forte's Casino Game Protection (sent one out yesterday), as well as an occasional other book. I don't get orders for really tough books like Don's, of course, but who am I to turn down a casino's money ? one way or the other?!

    MB: Answer from MB

You all need someone to be the bad guy.

Casino spies make you feel important and perhaps glamorous; I don?t have a problem with that.

Why don?t you stop and think, just for a nanosecond!

Do you really think I would post under my own name with links to my website if my purpose was to glean information?

Don once bragged on BJ21 that he would never allow me on his website; that same day I made a post on DD.

Don was furious, claiming that I had infiltrated his site; he threw me off with much fanfare.

    There are two points here:

    1. I had been a member of DD since the site opened; membership was automatic to subscribers of BJF.

    2. If access to DD was important to me or I did not have alternative access, why on earth would I broadcast my presence?

Don, Victor and Parker know perfectly well that it is impossible to keep anyone out who is determined to get in; for God?s sake all you have to do is buy a bloody book!

The problem for owner/operators of these sites is that I am not discrete; I embarrass them by constantly making it clear that casino people monitor these sites.

You may not accept this, but my in-your-face, ram-it-down-your-gob style stops you from being lulled into a false sense of security by webmasters whose business interests are furthered if people think they are members of an exclusive society.

Hands up all those people who have been beaten up, defenestrated, barred, restricted or otherwise identified by or to casinos, as a result of any of my actions.

Please list, in order of lost EV, the techniques or opportunities that are no longer offered or available to you as a direct result of any action on my part.

Please list, in order of lost EV, the techniques and opportunities that are no longer offered or available to you as a direct result of actions on the part of:

    Stanford Wong
    Arnold Snyder
    Don Schlesinger
    Ian Andersen
    Brett Harris
    Laurance Scott
    Bill Zender
    Et al

    Brick says;

?If I made a living playing blackjack like some of these guys claim to be doing, there is no way I'd respond to a questionable post.?

    Michael says;

What would you be doing; writing books?

Add more pictures and remove more words and numbers.
Especially the big words and numbers.

    Bettie: Must be why

Steve Forte's Casino Game Protection and it's approximately 515 pictures is so popular lately! They must just like to look at the pretty pictures. We'll have to work some into the next printing of Blackjack Attack!

Brick: Re: Selling to the Dark Side

Does not surprise me,Arnold has always sucked up to the Darkside. It's quite obvious to me(not to YOU Sun Runner, but to ME) that 50% of his participates at BJF or what ever they call it are either casino employees or casino trolls. Not only Snyder but others as well seem to want their cake and want to eat it,no matter what the cost to the small world of the TRUE card counters community. As I already knew, MB is correct, in that these bigshots have other interest. Fortunately I believe Don is one of of few left that will not cater to casino spies, trolls, employees, lurkers, etc. he despises them...at least I hope he does.

Protecting the dwindling world of card counters and advantage tactics seems to be at the bottom of the list when it comes to MOST BJ sites,in particuliar the ones who have a publishing interest, and to make matters worse we have the puppets who enjoy trying to show off(or impress)anyone who will listen while they preach. They often have a public e-mail address. It would not be surprised if they long for the day an MGM executive will pay them a small fortune for consultation, who knows. They are on some kind of internet ego trip.

Jay's opinion of card counting (below) is actually not as far off from the truth as many would like it to be. If conditions keep getting worse we could very well see the day when card counting is worth PEANUTS...nothing left but two-bit publishers selling books on progressions, how would we like that?

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
