    skanave: 6-8 Deck Blackjack

What are the best systems for 6-8 deck?

I know the traditional counting strategies focus more on single and double deck BJ. So i am curious to know what is best for the higher decks. I am currently reading BB in BJ and Playin BJ as a business to work on fundamentals. I just need some input on the more advanced tactics.

    Thanks for your help!!

    > What are the best systems for 6-8 deck?

I began playing Blackjack with the Hi-Opt counting method. In order to gain an advantage with my practicing at home I bought six decks of cards and started to count using the Hi-Opt. With regards to your question; I asked a similar question to Henry Tamburin.

In his response he stated that the Hi-Opt was fine for single deck games but he advised me to use a count that incorporates the ?Aces?. He further recommended using a Hi-Lo count or the KO count in multi deck games as the aces were too important and influential in your game to be ignored.

Just out of curiosity. Where are you playing 6-8 deck games? Are you in the U.K?

    I would advise Hi-Lo or Red7...

Let me say at the outset I offer this advice as a way of thanking those who have helped me...I can never thank them enough, but I can help others that are starting out as I once was...its my way of thanking them by helping grow the game we love to play.

Hi-Lo has quite a bit of literature available, and as a beginner you do not want to be confused by having to translate information expressed in terms of Hi-Lo into the that of the count system you are using. Hi-Lo is also the recommended system by most experts for shuffle tracking, which I believe you have shown an interest in other posts....something to grow to eventually...
Blackjack Attach 3rd Edition has the optimal betting ramps for most all games, and they are in Hi-Lo by the way.

I believe you have BB in BJ, so just start with Hi-Lo Lite and later on you can go to full Hi-Lo if you like.

Red7 is more simple use and in some shoe games will outperform Hi-Lo.

I would advise you to get Casino Verite practice software and use it to hone your counting skills...you can dry run you counting, betting and wong-ing skills.

I think another person mentioned getting six or eight decks of cards...do that, and get a discard tray so you can practice estimating the number of cards already played (true count conversion)...the Gamblers General Store sells them for about $20 I believe, you can purchase it online.

    Good luck.

I will defintiely look into both hi-lo and red7 after i get more well versed in the basics.

I am not in the UK, sorry. Im in California, i can get to many different casinos and cardrooms from my locations. My main game is Hold Em, but I have been looking at blackjack a lot lately.
