    Pit crew and host communicate?

If a host approaches you with the usual pretentious greeting, does that confirm that you haven't been positively identified as a counter?
Or can you have a case where the right hand isn't talking to the left hand, and the host doesn't know that the pit crew has identified you as a counter.
Are there special notes on the players ratings card that both the host and the pit can share?
Does the pit and the host operate independently as a completely separate entity? Does it depend on the casino?

They are generally separate. The host rarely knows your status as a player, but their boss at the end of each year may order a skills check to decide if your win streak is due to luck or some other reason. Generally you are good with your host until you aren't anymore and this goes for both table games and machine players. For table game players the host gets the word that you're an AP and depending on the casino policy may continue to comp you based on your other non-AP play or may be completely ignorant of your status. For machine players the host will often not know you've been taken off the mailing list until you complain about it (or will pretend not to know).
